City Budget
CITY BUDGET: Who says powerpoints are boring?! Click here to see the powerpoint I showed in a council budget session that caused the police union president to rage and run from the room, followed by the fire union president. Apparently the truth hurts, and a picture really is worth a thousand words.
We need more council members with the guts to make the cuts. Cincinnati spends 67% of general fund budget on public safety (police and fire), way more than comparable cities like Raleigh 43%, St. Louis 44%, and Minneapolis, 43%. Click here.
My personal contribution to our budget crisis is to return more than $15,000 to taxpayers from my council office funds for 2010.
The City Finance Department has an online database for expenditures of $2,000+, sortable by vendor, department, amount, and description. Click here.
